Who We Are
The Academy of the Aramaic (Syriac) Language is dedicated to preserving, revitalizing, and developing one of the world’s oldest languages. Founded on February 21, 2023, under the World Council of Arameans (WCA), we are a team of scholars and advocates working to keep the Aramaic language alive for future generations.
Through research, community collaboration, and innovative projects like publishing dictionaries and hosting workshops, we ensure the Aramaic language remains a vital part of our cultural and linguistic heritage. Join us in safeguarding this ancient treasure for a vibrant future.
Do you want to join and contribute to strengthening the Aramaic language?
Now you have the opportunity as an individual or organization to help develop the Aramaic language for the future. On this website we open a forum, where you can come up with suggestions for new words in different categories. The received proposals are processed by the academy's board and when a decision has been made, the new words will be published on the web and collected in a dictionary for the Aramaic language. Every year the academy will collect new words and publish a dictionary (lexicon) of the Aramaic language.
